Did you ever get a package of something you ordered, and what you got was a different item, but a slightly better one than what you were supposed to get? If you did, what was your thought process at that moment? Did you contemplate whether or not to contact the store that sent it and let them know? or did you decide that if they made the mistake, it was theirs to pay for it?
I'd like to imagine that each and every one of us has a good conscience and a bad conscience, like an angel and a demon sitting on each of our shoulders. They are the ones who guide us while making these kinds of decisions. Sometimes we listen to the angel, and sometimes we listen to the demon.
The person in this Reddit story was following his good conscience when he discovered that he got a $500k server when he actually ordered one that cost him around $6k. When he got the order, he blocked the transaction, so he could set the record straight. When customer support contacted him, they were angry that he didn't pay for the server, and wouldn't hear his reasoning. In the end, he got a lot more than what he paid for…
