Cat owners know the drill. If you have a particularly needy cat, you know you're about to get woken up every morning to the slightest of ''meows'' and the tickling of their fur across your face. And if you ignore it, their pleas just become more desperate. Their meows get louder, and their claws ever so slightly poke into your skin. Now, you're fully awake. What do they want, for crying out loud? Food? Fresh litter? No, they just want you to wake up. Though their love and affection are outright adorable, it's not so cute at 4 a.m., is it? So, how do you stop this behavior?
It turns out lots of purrents have this exact same issue. Whether the wake-up call is at 4, 5:55, or 6:30 a.m., their purrsonal alarm clocks are never late. On r/cats, this one hooman has had enough. He turned to Reddit as a desparate plea to ask other feline owners how to stop this nonsense behavior. The consensus? You can't. Youre cat basically owns you. Just kidding (but not really). Though there are a lot of other desperate cat owners out there looking for the answer too, there were some helpful pieces of advice suggested. And we've compiled the top responses below for you.
