You know that phrase "everything but the kitchen sink?" I think it needs to be interrogated. Who's to say that the kitchen sink is the end-all-be-all of including everything? What about the fridge? What about a blue whale? What about the country of Denmark? Why is such a quotidian object held as such a bastion of everythingness? And when people say "everything including the kitchen sink," that's not any better. Why would I want the kitchen sink in anything? I already have one at home.
I suppose it's one of those sayings that is best left unanalyzed. It's better we just take it in stride and not ask too many questions. But I can't help that I have a critical eye and a sharp ear for language. Soon I will deliver you into the sweet safety of the meme list, don't worry. They're here to heal you from the brain rot.
