'He won't let me work there': Overprotective Husband Forbids Wife From Working At Local Gay Bar Despite Being Broke And Unemployed

Okay ladies, let's have a little huddle real quick. We're here to talk about a wife and her overprotective husband who doesn't want her to work at a gay bar, despite them both being unemployed and close to eviction. There's a lot to unpack here, so let's get into it. 

Firstly, we applaud this woman's desire to open communication with her husband about her line of work, but we know that men don't have any say in whether we can or cannot work anywhere, right? Right. Secondly, if you're both unemployed, we would tell him that he doesn't have any right to "forbid" us from doing anything until he also gets a job. If he wants her not to work there, he can get a job that makes enough money where she doesn't have to work. Love doesn't pay the bills, sweetie.

The level of insecurity in his statements is alarming and if we were her, we would get the job, pack our bags, and move into our own place. There is obviously a lot more to the situation, but a partnership should be equal, and if he's not bringing in his half, he has no right to tell her how to contribute hers.
