Note to self: never be the person everyone rolls their eyes at in the office. We're talking about the person who says whatever the boss would like them to say and would throw someone else under the bus in a second if it meant they got extra points in the boss's book. We're talking about the guy who is always scheduling unnecessary meetings just to make it seem like he's busy. Going out of your way for brownie points may impress an egomaniac, but it's always how to annoy and frustrate your coworkers. The best way to appease both parties in this situation is to just do your job well and read the room.
This thread was posted to Reddit's r/pettyrevenge subreddit by u/DuckDuckWaffle99, who showed us what happens when you annoy your coworkers so much that they start actively working against your agenda to be the best in the boss's book. What's even more amusing is that some folks in the comments section called the Redditor out for being just like their coworker. Trying to compete with your coworker over your boss's attention essentially means that you too want their attention and are no better than them.
