You know how they say that dogs tend to look like their owners? Little old ladies with puffy white hair almost always have a quivering, crusty white dog at their side. In a way, we rub off on our dog and visa versa–we're in tune with our dog's every step and while we train them, love them, and live with them every day, we get a little closer to finishing each other's sentences.

But why is it that your dog's breed says so much about you? Are we all just stereotypes or does the doggo's personality rub off on us a little too? Every gym bro contemplates getting a German Shepherd or a Belgian Malinois. Golden Doodle girls are always on their phones posting pictures of their fur-baby. And folks with a husky… well, we don't talk about them.

    Cane Corso: So sorry. Not a fan. I've been bit/charged by one dog and it was this one. BEAUTIFUL dogs though They are VERY reactive. With that being said, I have met some that are very well trained and behaved. I just find them hard to trust!

    Basset Hound: Funny looking and talkative! They are naturally nasty little boogers. You want a dog that looks like they belong in a Disney movie They love to roll in dirt and wallow in their own nastiness. It's a part of their charm.

    Great Pyrenees: An amazing Livestock Gaurdian Dog. They are protective over their home and small children. They are so gentle and tender with the people and things they love. This dog is outside 90% of the time and they like it that way. You enjoy eating dog hair and having it cover everything in your house.

    Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie): Very smart (too smart) and clever little gremlins!! I unfortunately find that people care for these dogs a lot or they neglect them often (high maintenance hair) They are pocket princesses and prefer having lots of toys, beds, and clothes. You want a dog that is beautiful, small, and doesn't shed.

    Chow Chow: Known for being aggressive but I've found out they're very sweet if you move slowly with them. They are firm in their boundaries. They are a type of dog that truly enjoys one (or few) people. True introverts. You imagine that your chow chow is a pet lion that you have tamed and allow to live in your home (you're right)

    Rottweiler: They can be super sweet but they can also be sketchy sometimes (I've seen both) They really love people and enjoy spending time with their family. These dogs have a wide range of personalities and energy levels- ultimately are very good dogs, especially if given the training. You might be someone who is a bit moody. That's ok! Your dog has your back no matter what.

    Jack Russell Terrier: They are a Velcro dog and want to be by your side 24/7 High energy! They are big companion dogs and do best whenever they have a friend to share time with. They will chase squirrels and birds out of your yard. They keep you safe from these dangers. You're welcome.
