Getting old isn't rad. The current slang gets weird, your music taste is out of date, and you've had lower back pain since 2002. At some point, our physical prime in life was wasted on late nights, binge drinking, loud concerts, and reckless stunts, but it's like we saved up all of the collective hangovers, soreness, and hearing loss for our later years. Gen X folks can all agree that at a certain point, our physique and mystique just went out the window.

Now we're accepting of our perpetual beer gut–as if any diet could make it go away. Now we're aware that our knees will crunch when we go down the stairs. And now we know that our sleep schedule is a mess. That's just what life is all about after you reach your third or fourth decade on this planet.

The best we can do is laugh about it a little, schedule an appointment with our chiropractor, and hope that one day there will be a cure-all elixir to the troublesome joints and creaks of our bodies. Until then, we're going to ride this bad boy into the sunset, updating our vision prescription annually and hoping our blood work comes back with impressively low cholesterol results.
