Just doing some shopping at Champs when I get a tap on my shoulder. Man asks me for help getting a jacket from a higher up rack Me: "Oh sorry man, I don't work here" Other customer: "I know, you're just taller than me so can you help"

I am 5'9" on my tip toes... and this dude is 5'7? "Okay?" As I proceed to reach for this jacket like a kid reaching for snacks on the top shelf. I get the jacket, hand it to

him, and walk away before he says anything. 2 minutes later he says I got the wrong size. An employee overheard this and started asking him nicely what he was doing. He explained and the look on this employee face was perplexed.

"Sir, he told you he doesn't work here. He is 2 inches taller than you. Why would you ever think you should ask a random person to help you shop?
  • 07
Other customer stayed silent while she went and got the hook that can get clothes from high up. The stick that was in the back behind a door that said "EMPLOYEES ONLY"

I got rung up after this and they scanned a coupon they had that I didn't to give me some $$ off as a thank you for my inconvenience. Yeah I don't work here, but I got asked for help on the top shelf like the jolly green giant at 5'9

doktorsick I'm 6'6 and if I go to the store with my wife, I ll usually get asked by some short lady to get something for them. That's crazy you're only 2 inches taller and the guy asks you to get something..

Tenshi_girl Thank you, on behalf of all the shorties out here. If I get caught climbing one more shelf I think I'll be banned.

Hollyd666 I get when customers ask if you are a giant but sometimes it's like their brain was left in the car. An old lady did this to me a few weeks ago. She couldn't reach something so asked me. We were a similar height but I'm disabled; I use crutches to get about. I actually laughed at her for asking the only cripple in a busy aisle. People are bonkers!

MNJayW 2 days ago I'm 6'5" and learned a valuable lesson. If a short person asks you for help reaching something, they want you to grab it for them, not pick them up so they can reach it themselves. That lady was freaked out

AliceHall58 You know what is worse than trying to reach high - trying to reach down into one of those freezer bins. I am 5'1 and I darn near fell into one of those frozen pits! Short can really be difficult.

rossarron 2 days ago when your shorter everyone taller looks like a giant. 25 Reply Share SpecificJunket8083 2 days ago True. I'm 4'11". Anyone over 5' is tall.

William Bott 1 day ago . I am only 5'9" but one time at Walmart a few months ago a nice older lady politely asked me if I could help her get some of the deviled ham from the top shelf. It was easily within my reach, so I told her of course I would and helped her. For a moment I got to feel like one of the Tall Ones.

Kayakityak 2 days ago It so bad needing something off a high shelf and not being able to reach it. Standing there waiting for someone tall to walk by to reach it for you. It's humiliating. I will usually try to find something long and narrow to try to knock it off the shelf.

mrdnra 2 days ago I'm about 6'4, living in the UK and have only ever been asked maybe 3 times for help getting things off high shelves in stores! I can understand if there's a significant height difference but 2 inches is not something I would consider significant!

cantaloupe-490 - 2 days ago I'm short, personally I'd rather climb the shelves than ask a stranger for help, but my spouse gets asked all the time, ngl and sometimes I'm a little sad I don't get to be the grocery store knight in shining armor. Well!!

The other day, a lady forgot her glasses and asked me to read the label on something for her! I was delighted, I finally had the qualifications for the position if "helpful stranger." All the 6'4 guys are probably out here like, "Can't relate, I just want to shop in peace."

McDuchess 2 days ago I'm with you. Or I was till I got a calf cramp while reaching for a package on the top shelf of the frozen foods, fell on the side of my foot, broke the fifth metatarsal and badly sprained the ankle at the same time. It cured me of that particular habit.

basilwhitedotcom 2 days ago . If you are tall, and someone asks you to grab something too high for them, do so. Never offer. This is Our Law.
