What Disney character did you identify the most with while growing up? Whether it is a Disney princess, a cute animal sidekick, or a mighty villain, we all have a character we feel is the best representation of ourselves.
For me, I always identified with Rapunzel, and I think a lot of women my age will feel the same. She had a quirkiness that was a perfect representation of the millennial teenage girl, and she was one of the first Disney princesses that I felt were actually realistic. After Rapunzel though, that charming quirkiness was something that you would find in every Disney female character - Anna, Moana, Mirabel, etc… And I don't know how I feel about that.
Nowadays, as a fully grown adult, it is harder for me to see myself in the modern Disney characters, and that charming quirkiness feels kind of far away. But to keep the Disney spirit alive, I make sure to go back and rewatch my favorite movies with the lovely characters that I have grown up loving and cherishing.
