Dachshund Puppy Gives Dog Disdaining Man New Lease On Life, Teaches Him The Value of Man's Best Friend

Hey, friends. We truly understand that not everyone can be a dog person, but those who don't like doggos are simply wrong… come on! Dogs are the most incredible of creatures; they give us humans all of their love and loyalty in exchange for caring for their basic needs. That sounds like a good deal, am I wrong? Well, regardless of how amazing we think dogs are, it is true that some folks have had less than ideal experiences with dogs throughout their lives that led to them feeling disdain towards the creatures. 

Such is the case of the original poster of the Reddit thread we are featuring today. Despite his past experiences with dogs, when his wife suggests bringing a dachshund puppy, OP is left with little to no choice but to comply. Turns out, it's a good thing that he did. That little dachshund baby ended up giving OP a new lease on life, a life that is filled with love for his faithful canine companion.

    I get it now. I totally get it. He gives me no trouble, there's no fallings out, it's just constant, unconditional love. As the title infers, he's just the most beautiful soul I've ever encountered, and I feel blessed to have him in my life. No one in my life has ever shown me such love. He's exactly what I needed in my life.

    Past Cauliflower_440 7h ago Same same. I have ocd and god forbid the disorder a dog would have brought. It was a hard no for my family. Then we went to Kauai, took a humane society dog out on a field trip for a day, husband returned him teary eyed, and what do you know? He flew out to us a few weeks later. That hard no is now my soulmate. We adopted him at the prefect time, as my daughters turn into cranky, hormonal tweens. I mean, the dog loves me unconditionally even if they don't.

I'm convinced most people who don't "get" the appeal of dogs, haven't owned one yet, and just go based on a bad experience with someone else's dog. My dogs make my life so much brighter. They are silly, cute, and give unconditional love.

    radradroit ⚫7h ago Aw this is so sweet. Gave me tears. They are so wonderful. I lost my boy, Bear, in December and he was truly the purest, kindest, most beautiful soul I have ever known. I often think I will never know anyone else so perfectly wonderful to the degree that he was. So far no one before, during, or after him has come close. Dogs are the epitome of love. Enjoy

It didn't take but 2 seconds for the dog to have him wrapped around his little finger. 3 years later their bond is amazing & he regularly tells me how much he loves our pup and how he's SO glad we got him.
