What makes your dog go Wow?

I was walking my dog and admiring a perfect spring day. I looked at my dog and wondered if he was completely oblivious to how beautiful the day was. Then he stopped walking and focused his entire being on some smell in the grass. I realized he has his wow moments too, just focused on some other things. What makes your dog go wow?

Exciting-Metal-2517 2d ago For Kaia, it's cats. She adores cats and we have several strays in our neighborhood. One of them specifically will sometimes allow Kaia to approach her, or even approach Kaia herself, and accept a kiss. Kaia bounces around and gets so excited that it's only ever one little moment before the cat trots off, but I just know she's going, "WOW!!!! Mom, did you see that????"

Rosie3450 • 2d ago Every morning, my dog goes out on the balcony off of our bedroom just before dawn. She watches the sun rise, then comes in and goes back to bed. She never misses a morning. It's her happy moment.

HabitNo8608 2d ago I'm jealous your spring is nice right now. My dog definitely appreciates beautiful days. She's an outdoorsy dog through and through, and she gives irritated sniffs when it's cold and rainy (but that does not deter her!) On beautiful days, you can see how delighted she is in the way she walks. She gets very springy and merry, trotting like a show horse.

Most_Decision5515 2d ago So my dog has this ritual that she has to go out in our balcony first thing in the morning before we go out for our walk. Every morning she rushes out there, sits in the same spot and just looks up at the sky or just straight ahead, and you can tell that she just really enjoys herself. We live near nature so across her she sees trees and birds etc. She doesn't move, she just looks around like she's taking it all in, and this is the most wholesome thing I have ever seeeee

kurisutarou 2d ago When we arrive home with groceries or from shopping, both dogs go into TSA mode. Partner and I take turns unboxing with them and they sniff to their hearts content. They wonder "do we have new treats or toys!?" And the answer is usually yes! So we expect and inspection from them and they look forward to smelling remnants of Costco and Trader Joe's air hahaha

00 Horror-Box-6014 • 2d ago Right now, EVERYTHING!!! He's almost 12 years old and lived his life in a crate in a basement. He's been our best boy for the last 3 days and just wants to look at everything and walk around. He goes Wow every time he goes on a walk. Every time we speak to him softly and give him loving, Wow. He makes me go Wow!!!

_salty_accountant • 2d ago We recently put a wall doggie door in so Luna can go into the yard whenever she likes. Since then, and specifically very recently, I'll see her sunning on the deck with her nose in the air and eyes closed. I think she is soaking up every moment of it and it makes me happy we can give her that.

hrmdurr 2d ago Checking her mail (sniffing around) is definitely up there, but if we're in the park and there's birds on the ground for her to scare off? She gets so dar pleased with herself and strut-jogs back to me lol

Violently_annoyed • 1d ago Anytime someone comes over, my shorkie absolutely loses his mind with excitement and desperately looks for the closest thing he can fit in his mouth- a remote, a sock, a block, a crayon, whatever, in order to present to the guest.

reallybirdysomedays • 2d ago Kittens. I foster, mostly bottle babies, and my dog gets completely awestruck everytime I walk in the door with a crate. As a side note, if she sniffs but doesn't lick them, I know the kitten/s are sick.

Bee Swarm327 • 2d ago When there's a pool of sunlight on the floor from the window that's just the right size for her to curl up in and get all toasty. Her eyes get really sleepy and her whole body goes soft.

Wise_Possession • 2d ago For my girl Talas, it's turtles. She loves them. They're all out in my yard again, and we go on turtle walks, where she likes to sniff them and watch them.
