Heartwarming Human Hero Works to Save Pack of Stray Doggos, Internet Wholesomely Works Together to Help Them Survive and Thrive

Hey dog lovers and Animal Comedy-ers, we know how much seeing a stray dog on the street can pull on your heartstrings. We simply can't resist their awwdorable faces and we can't help ourselves when picking them up and trying to give them a better life. It's commonplace in the USA for dogs to be saved from the streets to go get adopted from shelters, but that's not the case everywhere. One wholesome human who lives in Saudi Arabia became a real hero by working to save a pack of stray dogs, where dogs are considered dirty animals.

They posted about these puppers, asking for resources, medicine, basically anything that could help these precious puppies. And you know what happened next? The internet worked together to get him some de-worming medicine and give him some contacts of places that could help him get these puppies from surviving to thriving.     Look at those awwdorable faces! We can't resist. If it were up to us (and money was no object), we would fly them all back so we could live together in a giant puppy pile for the rest of our lives.

    Our hearts break for these little babies. Every doggo deserves a good life, with a nice, soft bed, a hooman to snuggle with, and lots of treats for being good boys and girls.

    GoodFoodDoneCheap OP 17 hr. ago I live and work in Saudi Arabia. Mainly in the industrial area in the south of Riyadh. I'd been noticing these dogs walking around the estate and I just had to find out where they are living. As it happens they were staying on and around a pile of filth about 3 minutes walk from my office.

    Since then, I have been visiting the dogs everyday. It started off as taking them waste food, which progressed to cooking extra so there would be more "waste", and now to buying them food. The numbers vary each day, but there is usually between 8 - 12.

    They are becoming more and more friendly as time goes on. Showing visible excitement when they see me. They tend to move around from place to place, but I can always find them by shouting for them and listening for them barking back at me.

    The conditions they live in are horrendous, so I am doing what I can to improve their health. The question I have is how to de- worm such a large group? And would it even be worth it if they continue to eat out of bins.

    As far as I'm aware, there are no shelters or charities that would entertain helping such wild dogs. If there happens to be someone reading this in Riyadh, get in touch if you would like to help.

    Elbowtotheface · 7 hr. ago Can't comment on Saudi but Qatar has a very active network of individuals who rescue and support strays, and are connected with charities and vets. You might be able to find something similar via Facebook, including expat groups etc.

    Thank you for what you're doing. These animals have it tough, especially over the summer. Our rescue 'Doha special' (Arabian Village Dog) is now living a very pampered life on the other side of the world.

    Fantastic_Coffee_441 - 8 hr. ago As somebody who lived in an arab country and we looked after the stray cats, you might be surprised at who might be able to help. I'd reach out and see if you can talk to a local vet and just see what they say about de worming. We had one that would neuter the cats around us and help them if they needed anything I'm aware of the stigma around dogs, but you will find people who do care around. They look really cute and you are doing good work with them
