Yarden Shafir @yarden_shafir Follow My teenage brother interviewed for a job at McDonalds. They asked him why he wants to work there, and why he chose McDonalds specifically. What's the expected answer from a teenager looking for an after school job selling burgers?

Yarden Shafir @yarden_shafir 1d Replying to @yarden_shafir . Things were so much easier when I was a kid. Then the bar was "do you have a pulse and are you willing to work for minimum wage and mild verbal abuse?”

Tony @tony_bridges_el. 1d Replying to @yarden_shafir This was years and years ago, but when I applied to McDonald's I said I wanted to work there because McDonald's is a stable company that has continued to expand even in downturns. The franchise owner liked that answer so much they walked me around to other managers to repeat it

ellory smith @ellorysmith. 1d This is a stupid question to ask, nobody should have to beg for a job, etc. but.... learning how to an answer on the spot is a life-long skill. It's like half of why teaching humanities is so important.

build mixed use taco-h... @yimbyism Follow For entry level jobs, the expected answer is literally anything vaguely plausible other than "money". They're just trying to filter for how much the person prepared for common interview questions as a proxy for conscientiousness.
