Change my mind: The Gen Z game 'Among Us' is just a ripoff of the classic 1980s John Carpenter sci-fi film 'The Thing.'

  • Listen, I hate to sound old, but they truly don't make them like they used to. CGI just doesn't hit the same way as vintage movie magic. I mean, COME ON! Dune, Blade Runner, Total Recall—you'd have to be a blind FOOL to say the recent remakes were better than the originals. I know everybody is going coco for the new Dune movies, but David Lynch directed the old one and he is father, so I don't understand what everyone is talking about. Am I the blind fool?… No. No way. Nothing can top sci-fi films from the 1980s. The animatronics, claymation, dark creativity, it was just one of a kind. I'm not saying there aren't good sci-fi flicks these days, there definitely are and CGI can definitely give a great advantage. I'm just saying, no way can you remake something like Blade Runner starring Arnold Schwartzenegger and think it's going to be better. That's just obvious. Am I crazy?? No, definitely not.
