So much has changed since 2007, who's going to tell the Cicadas the bad news?…

Oh to be a cicada and sleep for 17 years just to emerge to scream in a tree, get spicy with your fellow screaming tree dwellers, and then perish. Sounds like such a blissfully simple and fulfilling life. In fact, it sounds so fulfilling, maybe some of us will join them as the screen amongst the shrubbery. Is that legal? Who cares! It's 2024, we gotta do what we gotta do to mentally survive, and I'll tell ya what, a screaming sesh sounds pretty nice right about now.
If you know anything about cicadas, then you know that they are noisy. They stick around for a few weeks to procreate, and then they just d!e. It's their way of life and it's beautiful. Cicadas are a valuable food source for birds and other predators and can aerate lawns and improve water filtration into the ground. Cicadas also add nutrients to the soil as they decompose. So really, Cicadas are the best. Let's welcome them with screams and memes!
