In our day and age, it's important to remember our own history as a society. Remembering the people who made history, regardless of gender, is an important pastime. But in regard to gender, there never seems to be enough female voices out there. There's never enough importance attached to the women in history who made our world what it is. Continually taken for granted, these actresses have stepped onto the stage to remind us of women in history whose passion, thought, and leadership has spiraled them into our hearts and minds.
From writers, to queens of European countries, to scientists and other artists, these women have made an indelible impression on us. Even through centuries of this or that, we still have a name and face memory of these women in history. How many historical men can you list? Too many, we know. It's time for women to shine just as strongly as men, to have their names and notions remembered in the same way we know Napoleon or King Henry.
Frida Kahlo is the infamous Mexican painter, known for her surrealism on the canvas and risque behavior off the canvas.
Marie Antoinette was a Queen of France, known for her lavish lifestyle and bold fashion statements for the time.
Joan Jett was the iconic bad-girl guitarist for the band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, as well as The Runaways.
Queen Elizabeth was the queen of England. Her reign is associated with flourishing cultures, arts, literature, and more. This was a critical time in history and her role as queen set up the country for greatness.
Anne Boleyn was the second wife of Henry VIII of England. Illustrious for her will and intelligence in steering her husband's political decisions, but her historic time on earth was cut short by her unfortunate beheading.
Jane Austen is probably the most well-known and regarded female writer of all time. With her novels being continually popularized into films, she gives a whole new spice to the realm of regency.
