One day I decided it had been a while since I had vacuumed, and it needed to be done. So I took one look at my two cats, Spock and Leo, who were sleeping peacefully in the afternoon sun, unaware that their enemy was about to be turned on in order to clean their favorite dusty spots around the house. If you would ask them, they would much prefer the house stay dirty because they are perfectly capable of cleaning themselves with their tiny pink tongue, thank you very much. But of course, being hooman, I must vacuum. So I grabbed it out of the closet and plugged it in. It began to hum loudly and at once both cats bolted upright, turning their heads in the direction of the sudden noise. They immediately darted under the sofa, howling as if at the very least, I had imprisoned them for their cute crimes.
