  • As a responsible dog owner, we are sure you've asked the usual questions you ask when looking to hire a professional dog walker. Things like if they've had any experience with dogs before, what kind of dog experience, do they have references, etc. But do you really know what's going on during your dog's walk with them? That wasn't supposed to sound menacing. In fact, TikToker and professional dog walker “Tail of a Time,” shows you that it's actually very wholesome. 

    This dog walker has her own pup that she loves with all her heart, so many have asked her if she leaves her dog at home during her work days or takes him along. So she happily provided an answer and took everyone along on a dog with her clients and her own dog. She says that 9 times out of 10, her dog Pickle comes along and gets to play and run around with his doggy friends. But she is also a professional, so if the client asks for solo walks, she, of course, obliges, and when it comes to reactive dogs, her dog also stays home. Sometimes she's not even working in the area where it's easy to pick up her own dog, so she won't. And sometimes there just isn't enough room for her own pup, so he gets left behind. Either way, Pickle gets some play time and has the best time. 

    Basically, if you get a dog walker who has her own dog, you might just also be getting a new bestie for your dog and helping out another dog to get some outdoor time. It's a win-win!

Of course, there are days when he's not with me. That depends on the dogs I'm walking, the location that I'm walking, or if there's someone home to take care of him. But nine times out of ten, Pickle is with me.

So obviously he's going to come along to work with me.     Dog walker Day in the life So today I had three groups and one half-an- hour solo. My boyfriend isn't here, so I thought, "what better time to spend the day with my dog than to bring him along?" So my first one was a trio plus Pickle. So I had Piper, Avocado, Remy, and pickle. This was a really, really nice walk, other than when Remy slipped out of her harness. That was a bit traumatic. But, you know, I caught her, so it's fine.

    Dog walker Day in the life So a lot of people message me and say things like, "why would you become a dog walker and leave your dog at home?" Or "why doesn't your dog come with you?" And, like I said at the start of this video, it just depends on where I am and who I'm walking.

    Dog walker Day in the life Obviously, if I'm walking a reactive dog, then he can't come. Or if I'm in a different village that day and I can't pick him up, then he doesn't come. And also, I've got to remember that although he is my dog and I love him so much, and he's the most important thing in my life, my clients do take priority when it comes to dog walks. So if I've got only one more space in a group walk, I'm not going to take my dog, I'll take someone else's dog.

But like I said, nine times out of ten, Pickle does come along, even if it's just for one group walk or even if it's just for like, one solo. I try and make sure he gets in because, you know, it means he can have a fun day. Seeing all of his friends!

    Dog walker Day in the life In total today, Pickle saw, I think ten of his friends. I think it was either 9, 10, or 11. And he was running around a lot. I kept saying to him, "Pickle, calm down, You've literally got another 2 hours of walking." But he was out of the house today between, I think we left at 10 AM and we got in at about 3 PM. So he's had a very, very long day.

    valk the life A lot of people always ask me, "is he well- socialized?" And Pickle is just the most brilliant little dog. He's so, so well-behaved. He's so dog-neutral as well. So he's just a great little assistant. It's so fun spending the day with him. So, yeah, these were my walks for the day.

    Dog walker Day in the life So I got back. I'm realizing how dirty he is and how long this is going to take me. But, yeah, he was sleepy. We had a nice day together. I had to get in and hose him down because my hoses broke.
