Ah, retirement, sounds like a dream, does it not? To spend your golden years basking in the glow of a life well lived and a job well done that will now pay your way until your eternal sleep. Sounds like a slice of heaven, at least for those who will get to enjoy retirement before senility kicks in. And in today's wholesome and heartwarming dog video, this lucky doggo got to experience just that as he was relieved from active duty, patrolling the airports of the United States.
Most working doggos get to retire at the ripe old age of 8, which is around 50 years old in hooman years, leaving them plenty of time to run around and enjoy all the many different and varied activities, sights, sounds and smells of the world. They might get to travel, to meet a new family, to give birth to pawdorable pups and to create a life that is all of their own. However, for us hoomans the reality is somewhat different and when we get to retirement age (if we ever do) things will not quite be as spry as they once were. So we recommend you take a moment to enjoy this doggo's sheer joy and elation on completing a job, that was very well done.

It is a good thing that they did not decide to opt for the exploding confetti, otherwise this old timer might have had a bit of a tough time containing himself, as much as it would have been a rather appropriate send off for a doggo who has worked with explosives its whole life.
Holy moly, the confusion, excitement and sheer madness of not knowing what to do is rather pawfectly captured in this wholesome moment when several balls were released at once to mark the beginning of this diligent doggo's retirement. What a wonderful way to kick off your golden years, that being said, the doggo may be expecting such surprises more often now, putting a lot of pressure on his future family.
