We can curate our social media feeds and search all the niche topics that we like, but we're never going to get to a point where absolutely everything that the internet serves up to us is something that we want to see. There are always going to be the occasional images, videos, and conversations that bore us, or upset us even.

When all we want to do is be pleasantly distracted, this can seem like a nuisance, but we can also look at it from a different perspective. The not-so-great things make us even more grateful for the stuff that we actually enjoy. Also, when we have to make more of an effort to dig up the gold, we can trick ourselves into thinking that we have even been somewhat productive. It's good to look on the bright side with these things, especially seeing as they are designed with our entertainment in mind.
