The dice tumble across the worn leather map. A four and a two. Your heart sinks… your character, an elven ranger, has to leap across the chasm separating you from the ancient dragon's lair. A critical failure. What are you going to do? Across the table, a dear friend of yours, Dungeon Master, grins. "Esaki", he booms, his voice taking on the guttural rasp of the monstrous creature, "your footing crumbles beneath you, and you plummet toward the fiery depths below!"

Groans erupted from the table, and Suki, your halfling bard, clutched her lute dramatically. John, the dwarf paladin, slams his fist on the table, vowing to find a way to save you. Will he succeed? The stakes are so high. Well, only time will tell.

    I was DMing a game last night and we broke for food right before the final fight for the session. I was making Tonkatsu and stir fry broccoli for the pary. Frying the last piece I went to flip it and it slipped from the tongs and splashed the oil out of the pan, right onto me. I was burned and had to end the session for the night as I couldn't really DM while I was in that much pain.

    On the plus side, it was only a minor burn and after burn cream and letting it air out over night, it only hurts a little bit and is barely red today. What is the worst/strangest way your sessions have ended?

    phdemented ⚫ 2 days ago DM 24 years ago, DMing a group of maybe eleven to thirteen 16/17 year olds. Two get bored and decide to sneak up and backstab another PC, I let it happen and they roll well and I the character. Player gets up and runs out of the room slamming the door, very emotional. Door opens back up and he screams "you ked me on my BIRTHDAY" and slams the door (again). Dead silence for about 5 minutes (they didn't know it was his birthday), we just pack up the stuff and end it there,

    lluewhyn 1 day ago Player tried deceiving the entire party (for completely unknown and nonsensical reasons), and my wife rolls an Insight check. The guy gets ped and starts shouting at my wife, and she elects to leave the room. That ends the campaign, and guy gets weirder after that, including asking us to return a (non-expensive) gaming item that he had gifted us quite a few years earlier.     OutsideBig619. 1 day ago Basement gaming room with a little window well. There was a huge rainstorm going on and the window well started to fill with water, which then started leaking in around the edges of the window frame. Everyone was scrambling to move books and furniture, rolling up the carpet and getting towels down to contain the deluge. We get a wet/dry vacuum and start sucking up the worst of the water and then the power goes out.

    We wound up using the vacuum to drain the window well when the power came back on. The towels did an ok job for the floor, but the wood paneling on the wall underneath the window had to be replaced. My dad wound up using fish tank caulk to seal around the window - the well would flood sometimes but it never leaked in after that.

    theknittingartificer · 1 day ago Two of my players who I thought were merely game acquaintances started arguing mid- session. I took them both aside and come to find out they'd been having an affair while the guy's wife, a good friend of mine who also loves D&D, was left at home to take care of his kids. I ended the session for the night, and after speaking with both of them a bit more I kicked them both out of the game. And the game went on minus two players.
