It might not be possible for every parent out there, but I firmly believe that parents should not be financially reliant on their children whatsoever, at least not while they are able to work.

I am fully aware that a lot of single parents out there struggle with maintaining their household with just one salary, but I still think that making your kid work and then taking their money should be the absolute last resort. Not only because kids should have the freedom to enjoy their youth, without having to carry their parents' financial burden with them, but also because it can create many family issues and feuds that simply are just not worth the extra hundreds of dollars a month.
