The Wildest Parenting Texts of the Week (May 7, 2024)

Every parent has a different level of involvement in their kid's life once they become adults. Some adult children call their parents multiple times a day, consulting them on every decision they make, whether it's big or small. Some parents still provide housing and food for their kids years after graduating high school or college. Other parents are naturally best friends with their kids, and this high communication level is normal for them. I cannot relate. I love my parents, but I do not need to update them on every detail in my life. When I do that, I often come to regret it. It's much more fun to give the broad stories that won't worry anybody. Of course, to every extreme, there is another side; in this case, it's barely communicating with your parents at all. These parenting texts cover all aspects of poor parental communication, and I don't envy the kids on the other side.
