Is it just me or did birdwatching hit you and your friend group like a ton of bricks? Because I never had any desire to birdwatch, in fact, birds kind of scared me. But now that I'm in my early thirties, I've bought some bird seed and a bird book and the first thing I do in the morning is sit by the window, throw some seeds, and wait for the birds. And the excitement I get when I see a bird I've never seen before?! Where in the world did that come from? I live in a huge city, and the only birds I really see are sparrows and pigeons, why is this so entertaining? And it's not just me, all the other friends who have hit their 30s are into birds now too. Some can even identify different bird calls. So, is this situation something everyone is experiencing, or did my friends and I drink something weird during someone's last 30th birthday party that changed us into birders? Anyways, we might be birders now, but we've always been memers, so let's combine the two!
