Ding, dong, ding, dong… the last bell echoed loudly through the castle and students swarmed the hall by the dozens, trying to make their way to their common rooms, the courtyard, or Hogsmeade like you. You practically bolted out of Charms, yourself. It's finally Friday, and you're gonna hang out with friends over some delicious butterbeer. And you are going to show up on a broomstick!
You sprint down the hallway, pushing past students, the worn stone slick beneath your black dress shoes. You arrive at the Quidditch Pitch, inhaling the familiar scent of freshly cut grass and something vaguely lemony… Madam Hooch must have been polishing the golden snitch. Grinning, you mount your trusty firebolt, and off you go! Soaring through the sky, wind whips through your hair, tugging playfully at your Gryffindor scarf, which you have had to charm in order for it not to fly right off as you whiz around. Below, the castle shrinks to a toy model, its gargoyles resembling grumpy gnomes guarding a miniature kingdom. Finally, you set your sights on Hogsmeade, the village nestled between rolling hills and dusted with the golden hues of the setting sun.
Your friends, bless their broomstick-less hearts, wouldn't be arriving for another hour, so you're going to start off with a solo butterbeer.
