Banfield's 2017 State of Pet Health Report looked at the medical data of 2.5 million dogs and 500,000 cats and ranked the states with the most obese pets.

Here are the top five states for overweight dogs and cats:
Cats
Minnesota: 46% of cats diagnosed as overweight
Nebraska: 43% of cats diagnosed as overweight
Iowa: 42% of cats diagnosed as overweight
Idaho: 40% of cats diagnosed as overweight
Delaware and Michigan (tied): 39% of cats diagnosed as overweight
