Most people, when thinking about adopting a cat, will think that it will be easy. "Cats are relatively low maintenance, they're independent, you don't have to do that much," that's what they think. And although, on some level, that is true, there is still so much that we have to know as cat owners. We need to know things like practical ways to enrich our cats' environments. We need to know about overstimulation in cats and how it can cause them to bite us. We need to know how important it is to play with our cats and pay sufficient attention to them. 

Often, we learn these things with experience or from other people and sources, but before all of those things, we have to know one thing - which cats to adopt and which not. Because (unfortunately) not all cats are meant to be house cats.

    Honestly, we love seeing threads like this go viral on the internet. Cuteness is good, it's always good, but it's just as impurrtant to be aware and educated about the animals that we love and want to adopt.

    It's a very good list too. Comprehensive, with explanations. We appreciate every second that this person put into making it, and we hope this article helps it reach more people. We do have to say that not all of these cats shouldn't be adopted, only that if you are thinking of adopting them, make sure you know how to provide for them the conditions that they actually need to be able to live a long life and thrive.
