Kindhearted Hiker Encounters Dehydrated Kitten on a Mountain, Returns the Next Day With a Cat Backpack to Save Her

Imagine you're hiking on a mountain and on your tiresome journey, you meet a kitty!

That's what happened to this solo hiker who had encountered a kitten at the bottom of a mountain they were trudging through. The kitty was panting, and generally looked a bit unwell. The hiker gave her some water and treats, after which she perked up a bit. Still, they were worried that the cute critter needed medical attention and decided to return the next day to make sure that she would get it. Every time I hear such a wholesome story, it makes my heart soar. Somewhere, on the other side of the world, there is a kindhearted hooman who is doing something good for the world. I can only do the same from my end.

    I went on a solo hike and at the very bottom sat a kitten. I always carry treats with me (I live in Japan and I always like to make kitty friends) But as I approach I saw that she was panting. I had a tiny bit of water left for her. She perked up quickly after the food and water and was following me around and rubbing me like crazy. I didn't want to shove her in a small bag and bike home when she was already overheated so I said goodbye.

    The next day I went back to the spot and she was still there. I brought a cat backpack and I easily scooped her up and brought her straight to the vet. She has a respiratory illness, and had a lot of ticks on her. It's been a few days, she's gaining back strength and qua tining in my bathroom. She loves cuddles and touches. She seems very happy for all the help and is very cooperative with tick removal, baths, medication. Now for the long month of recovery, spaying and introducing her to our boy

    xtunamilk 2 days ago That was so kind of you. I hope you two have a happy life together! Not sure if your vet gave you a nebulizer to help with her breathing, but you can also use a humidifier if she is still having trouble. Or run the shower/bath for a bit to get some warm steam. Helps so much when you're having trouble with respiratory stuff.
