New homeowner installs privacy fence to keep entitled neighbors from inviting themselves over, neighbors hold intervention on his porch: '[They said] I should be more welcoming to them and take my fence down'

Some homeowners have mixed feelings about overly friendly neighbors. It can be nice to have a quick chat, ask them to watch your house when you're out of town, or stop over to borrow a baking dish. But how do you feel about neighbors who constantly find their way into your house unannounced? That's what this new homeowner has been dealing with for the past four months. He's realized he's surrounded by overly friendly neighbors who have no issue walking into his backyard for a chat or going inside to use the restroom. The new homeowner tried to politely hint that it's not okay to walk over unannounced, but he had to take it a step further. He decided to put up a privacy fence with signs saying "no trespassing" and "keep the gate shut." However, that did not stop his neighbors from opening the gate right up and continuing on in any way. When he finally decided to speak up and outright say he didn't want them over unless explicitly invited, things started to heat up in the neighborhood.
