One howlarious phenomenon that needs to be talked about more is the wacky names shelters give to strays. These creative names are usually just placeholders for the staff to call the animals until they are adopted. When they get adopted, their new hooman can either keep their given wacky name or pick something new. If you're ever bored and have some spare time, take a moment to browse your local shelter or visit PetFinder online to have a good laugh over some of the super silly names. I've noticed at my local shelter that if a litter of animals or siblings arrive, they usually have names that follow a theme. For example, I've seen a litter of five kittens, all named after spices like salt, pepper, cumin, cinnamon, and paprika. It's absolutely awwdorable.
