Thoughtless dad pushes kids in front of wife as she finishes a marathon, faces wrath of the internet: 'Women are allowed to have identities outside of "mother"'

For many people who have young kids, one of their biggest challenges is maintaining a life outside of parenthood— especially if they're a mom. Being responsible for a tiny human or several is no part-time job. However, it's usually important for the sanity of everyone involved to have something in your life that is still about you, and not just the fact that you have children. 

It goes without saying that this isn't easy, but it can be made even more difficult when other people want to put obstacles in your way. A very literal manifestation of this has recently been enraging the internet, when a video of a woman finishing a marathon went viral. In the clip, she appears to win the race, but not before her husband pushes her children towards her seconds before the finish line. Nobody was impressed with the attitude towards his wife or the safety of his children. Could he not have waited?

    Reji @RejiYates Follow She checked her watch as she finished, so it seems she was timing herself-perhaps to beat a personal best or to finish within a certain timeframe. Unfortunately, her husband carelessly placed their kids right in her path as she was running, which could have been dangerous. It's hard to tell if he was trying to intentionally disrupt her or if he simply wasn't thinking. Either way, it was a thoughtless act.
