Animation Enthusiasts Share Which Nostalgic Cartoons Got Them into Superheroes

I'm what you might call an animation enthusiast.

My love affair with cartoons started young, fueled by Saturday mornings glued to the TV in the 90s. This was back when I had energy, unlike today, where I'm forever stuck in my cubicle. Back then, the animation scene was bursting with color and action. Spider-Man swinging through New York, the X-Men battling villains, the Powerpuff Girls saving Townsville – it was a superhero smorgasbord! That's where my fascination with it all began.

Shows like Dexter's Laboratory and Johnny Bravo had me snickering loudly with their wacky antics. Rugrats took me into the imaginative world of babies, and shows like Doug explored the awkwardness of growing up. Blockbuster nights were a special treat. Browsing the shelves filled with colorful VHS cases felt like a treasure hunt — and my mom always allowed me to pick out 2 to take home. Picking out a cartoon to rent was like choosing a portal to a different world, one I much preferred to the one I was living in.

Today, I can't resist revisiting those classics and rediscovering the joy of a good animated adventure. But what really got me into superheros was seeing the first Tobey Mcguire Spider- Man movie in theaters. After that, I started seeking out cartoons and comics and games with super heroes in them seriously. And still to this day I regularly read comics, it's all because of that movie.

They hold up really well to this day & I'd do anything to see these two verisons have a crossover.

I wasn't really all that into them as a kid to be honest, which led to me missing out on a lot of stuff. It wasn't until I watched Invincible and started reading the comics that I'm probably gonna check out some more superhero related content.
