My coworker just tried to change my schedule without my permission lol Background: I'm a part timer at a big retail company and I get 40 hours a week despite being part time. I typically have a set schedule, work multiple departments and have certain days off, one of my full time coworkers just texted me saying he is gonna switch our closing and opening shifts because "he needs

to open". He's not a manager and no manager told him to do this lol, I told him I cant changed my schedule due to having plans already scheduled around MY schedule that was already in place. He instantly gets hostile and extremely sarcastic with me about the whole thing and ends up saying never mind lol- I honestly just laughed off his weird sarcastic texts but im just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience lol. I want to post screenshots so bad haha

    • FrogFlavor 11h ago Just here to say if you work. 40 hours you better have all the protections and benefits. of full time. It sounds like you were hired PT and now are at FT. For example you may be earning vacation or 401K stuff different from part timers. good job sticking up for yourself though

DifficultCurrent7 • 16h ago Please talk to actually manglement about this, this dude was seriously trying to take advantage and push you around. Wasn't expecting you to stand up for yourself! Good on you! Screenshot everything, take photos of your Rota. If anything suddenly somehow changes on it you'll have proof.

Also I know you say you're content working 40 hours as a part timer, but the company is deffinately taking advantage of that and you. If nothing else at 40 hours a week you could be accruing holiday, but as you're on paper as part time, yourd not getting it. Also you have no contract for those hours, so they could be taken away from you at any time.

MrRickGhastly 13h ago. Had a guy cross off my request for a day off and put his. They tired to make me work but I had $300 concert tickets I had bought three months before the date and showed them where he scratched me out.

etakmit 11h ago keep in mind you're working 40 hours a week regularly you are likely legally required to be classified full time and get all benefits that come with that
