Thicken Nugget was surrendered to the humane society at a whopping 30 pounds. Now, if you're not a cat lover (which we know you are), the average house cat weighs about 8-10 pounds. So, reigning in at 30 pounds, Thicken Nugget is not living his life to the fullest. This is why his caretakers enrolled him in water therapy to help him shed some weight.
Swimming is a great exercise for overweight animals because it takes the pressure off their joints. But Thicken Nugget is breaking grounds as the first feline ever to enroll in this Canine Aquatic Center - and for obvious reasons. Most house cats aren't fond of water, but Thicken Nuggets is a pro.
He wears a life vest, of course, and with the help of his cat swim coach, he has two sessions a day where he swims joyfully around a pool to get in his exercise. Yes, you read that right… a cat swim coach. Where can we sign up for that job??

Thicken Nuggets has been enrolled in water therapy for seven weeks now and has already lost five pounds, but he still has a while to go to reach his 15-pound weight-loss goal. But with all the progress he's making, we know he'll shatter that goal in no time.
Once Thicken Nugget is back to a healthy weight, he will be up for adoption and ready to live his best life.
