Time flies when you're having fun. We've been waiting for news of Gendry for FOUR years - and it turns out he's been right under our noses in Kings Landing. Davos didn't need to try very hard to convince Gendry to join the North; the blacksmith has a bone to pick with their common enemy, the Lannisters.
While the return of his character is exciting, fans on Twitter seemed more excited about Davos' super meta rowing joke. The last time we'd seen Gendry was after Davos saved him from another Melisandre kings blood sacrifice. Gendry rowed into the mists, and we weren't sure if he'd be seen again. Over the years, fans have been making jokes that Gendry has just been rowing the whole time. Davos' joke ("I didn't think I'd find you. Thought you might still be rowing.") was a great shout out to invested fans - especially those on /r/IsGendryStillRowing and r/WhereIsGendry.
