  • Urban design - So I was browsing "news" sites this morning when I came across this article. And it made me wonder, have any of you read the original? Well to start, its set in China. Yes that China, and Aladdin is a raised by his parents. He's not an orphan, but he is a terrible kid. His father is a tailor but Aladdin refuses to learn and makes him so depressed that he dies of his disappointment.
  • Text - T CU With his Dad dead, Aladdin pretty much does what ever he wants and when his mother tries to stop him, he even threatens her. However the Sorcerer Maghreb, who is an african Magician with a heart as black as his skin (actual book description) recruits him ধ
  • Insect - He poses as Aladdins dead fathers brother and convinces both him and his mother of it. He tells them he will make Aladdin into a wealthy merchant, but really he is planning to use him to get a magic lamp from a booby trapped cave.

  • Text - He gives Aladdin a magic ring of protection and sends him in, Aladdin retrieves the lamp and the magician plans to double cross him and slit his throat when he comes up to take rhe ring and lamp, however a merchant party is travelling nearby and he is worried they will see. He tries to get Aladdin to throw him the lamp but he won't, panic he ends up sealing him in the cave.
  • Text - htose ALADDIN AND THE GENIE After 3 days in total darkness Aladdin begins to weap, and wrings his hands together as he prays triggering a terrible genie to appear. To hungry to be scared he tell the tje genie to return him to the surface. He does and Aladdin goes home.
  • Text - areraraerer uarar The sorcerer uses the genie to steal the pala ce to his home in Africa, but Aladdin still has the magic ring and summons the lesser genie who can't undo the magic of the lamp genie but he can take him to his palace. Once he arrives and with the help of his wife he slays the sorcerer and uses thr genie to return his palace to china.
  • Illustration - Until one day he meets princess Badroulbadour, sorry no Jasime in this one. He becomes infatuated and using the lamp and his skills as a merchant he presents a massive fortune to the king and they are married. Using the Genie he has the most magnificent palace built.
  • Illustration - While he is home recovering his mom attempts to polish the lamp so she can sell it and summons a different genie so terrify she passes out, But Aladdin asks him for food and drink, he brings out a variable feast on silver plates and cups. After they eat it, they sell the plates.
  • Art - Surprisingly they don't really use it and even with unlimited wishes all they ask for is food and drink once a month, and after they eat they sell the plates. This goes on for more then a year and he learns how to be a proper merchant
  • Adaptation - Word of the rich upstart prince reaches the Sorcerer and he instantly realizes its due to the lamp. He travels to the palace and in a disguise and trades with princess, offering new lamps for old, not realizing its magic she agrees.
  • Costume design - The sorcerer had a powerful younger brother and he swears revenge, he travels as an old woman to the palace and gains the trust of Badroulbadour, however the Genie warns aladdin who then slays the sorcerer. Everyone lived happily ever after and Aladdin becomes the next. TL; DR: Book Aladdin is pretty much a different story then Disney's Aladdin.
