New dad tries to go against wife's wishes and feed water to 2-month-old baby: 'my mother insists that newborns should be given water from birth'

It's great that more and more dads are trying to be more involved parents these days, but not all of them understand that it isn't about just showing up and doing whatever the heck they feel like. Raising kids isn't easy, and the teamwork required with the other parent is a part of the equation that shouldn't be underestimated.

This is something that got one new dad into hot water after he had a disagreement with his wife on the diet of their two-month-old. She didn't want the baby to be given water yet, but he argued that she should because his mom claimed that all her children and grandchildren had drank water from birth.

When he shared this predicament to TikTok, not everybody was sympathetic. Many wondered why he was not fully respecting how his wife felt. In-law relationships have a way of affecting more things than some people think.
