‘You reap what you sow’: Married couple decides to each raise their bio kids separately as two different families, only to later complain about grandparents only giving gifts to their own grandkids

It can be quite jarring for kids when one of their parents decides to remarry and combine their two different families into one. All of a sudden they have to move into a different home, get acquainted with total strangers who simply become their step-siblings, and then deal with a whole new parent that is now a constant in their lives.

I understand why new couples are wary of putting their kids through that challenge, and why some parents try a different approach to it all. As weird as that sounds, what is even weirder is the fact that after raising their kids this way for years, the couple is suddenly upset by the fact that the husband's parents decided to only buy gifts for his kids and excluded his wife's kids, since they never really got to know them…
