The Wildest Parenting Texts of the Week (June 11, 2024)

Parenting comes with a lot of guilt. From the second you get pregnant, you hear all sorts of people telling you you're doing it wrong, explaining how you could do it better, and implying that your mistakes are way bigger than you actually are. As your kids get older, you hear this sort of unsolicited feedback from other parents, family members, and random strangers less and less. It's still there, but now that you've got some parenting experience, it's much easier to tell them to buzz off. One of the hardest groups to accept criticism from is your children. Your kid might say, "I hate you," when he's 10, but if he comes to you at 20 with a list of your failures, it's far more difficult to brush off as an unjustified retaliation. Some parents are bad at taking any sort of negativity from their kids, which can explain some of the following parenting texts.
