very moisturized @verymoisturized Follow These parents think moving at the rate of a child's natural curiosity is a sufficient pace for learning but they are failing to exploit the most plastic years of brain development and these children will forever be behind in life bc of their selfish, lazy parents

Mixtrix @MixtrixFix . 1d Replying to @verymoisturized Unpopular take but I think the rise of homeschooling is one of the worst things happening to the children rn

(Formerly) Brooklyn... ❤ @graciefacelove Replying to @verymoisturized Follow my 6 year old can write full sentences and read books & do addition, subtraction & some multiplication. Not bragging - just pointing out she needed school school (prob could have been homeschool too) to learn, not me randomly answering her questions all day

bb ghost @emilywithcurls 15h • being a reading/writing tutor for children who were 6-8 years old and struggling with 4-year-old curriculum was one of the things that radicalized me. refusing a child the tools they need to read and write at the level of their peers is abusive imo

Spirit Butterfly @MMarie_W 9h Replying to @verymoisturized I cannot believe that she is bragging about how far behind her child is. This is why we cannot get rid of the department of education.

بلقيس | Balkis Follow @Balkiiissss Replying to @verymoisturized I am pro homeschooling, but it's disheartening to see this. Even babies can learn a lot from their parents using intentional techniques to enhance their intelligence. This screams neglect. It's pure laziness & selfishness. A child at that age has the capacity to absorb so much knowledge:( wasted potential

Trey Lee @trey_nc. 19h Replying to @verymoisturized Oof, that kid is about two years behind where he should be. Free schooling is not homeschooling.

Kafka, esq. @metalgearobama - 10h People should not be allowed to homeschool their kids period. Your kids will go to a public school and learn algebra by force if necessary.
  • 17
Grunt Sculpin @baearthor ⚫ 6h . parents like this are setting their kids up for failure. they're going to become adults and enter the job market with no education, no high school degree, with no basic life skills because Granola Mommy thought you could learn to read via osmosis

luna @anfemcomm 20m this is why parents disrespect teachers so much. they really think the teaching job is just us looking over their kids while they go to work, when its actually a carefully planned and constructed field through scientific evidence of how teaching works and should happen
