Free schooling mom boasts about 6-year-old son spelling 3 letter words by himself: 'People should not be allowed to homeschool their kids'

It should not be controversial to say that education is a human right every kid deserves. While it's true that there are some lessons that we will only learn from the school of life, reading, writing, and arithmetic are foundational building blocks that most children are going to need support to understand.

Unfortunately, though, not every parent believes this and their kids suffer as a result. The 'unschooling' and 'free schooling' movements take the controversial approach that children should be the ones to teach themselves, and their dedicated followers seem to love nothing more than embarrassing themselves on the internet with this. The latest culprit is a free schooling mom who made a video praising the method and showing off her 6-year-old's notebook. Revealing that he had started to write a couple of three letter words, viewers were quick to express shock at how she thought he was making good progress. Could hiring a tutor really be that bad?

Even babies can learn a lot from their parents using intentional techniques to enhance their intelligence. This screams neglect. It's pure laziness & selfishness. A child at that age has the capacity to absorb so much knowledge:( wasted potential
