Egg realized that this sweet mama-to-be birdy didn't have a partner to help her through motherhood. Not wanting her new birb friend to struggle, Egg stepped up. “I have to remember I'm more than a step dad, I'm the dad who stepped up,” she says in a video.
Peanut was a little wary of her at first, but after getting feed peanuts every single day, she accepted Egg. She eventually laid four speckled eggs and eventually they all hatched out perfectly. Now, Peanut comes flying back to the nest whenever Egg calls for her and she still feeds her peanuts and other goodies every single morning. Their bird babies are growing up fast and will have to leave the nest soon, but isn't that the whole point of parenthood? You raise you chicks the best you can and then you have to let them fly away to live their lives. We can learn a thing or two from step bird-dad Egg and mama bird Peanut.
