Greetings, witches and wizards. In the past at Geek Universe, we have looked at international covers for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone as well as it's sequel. Now, it is time to delve into the many artistic interpretations of the third Harry Potter book. Harry's flight on the Hippogriff, both his solo flight during his Care of Magical Creatures class and his flight with Hermione at the end of the book, is by far the most popular choice for illustrators to depict on these covers. Harry's stag patronus comes as a close second. Other common motifs include Azkaban, time-turners, and the Knight Bus. Some artists, like that of the German edition, chose more unique scenes, like Harry's first encounter with Sirius in his dog form. Scroll through these gorgeous globally-loved book covers, and pick which one you wish you had grown up with.
For those of you that have been keeping up with the past two book cover posts, I regret to inform you all that the illustrator of the Italian editions stopped drawing characters with silly hats. From here on out, there are unfortunately no animal-themed cones on any heads.
