When it comes to the animal kingdom, there are a whole lot of jobs that we would love to have. Yes, our job writing about animals for Animal Comedy is by far the coolest job in the world, that's true, but have you ever heard of being a panda nanny for a living? Dealing with their chaos and cuteness all day long? Or what about working with birds all day and being the caretaker that a giant shoebill falls in love with? That sounds like a dream job. Or being a diver that becomes best friends with a giant fish? That sounds amazing.
Sigh, all of these professions sound awesome, but one that we have always thought about being, ever since we were kids, was a veterinarian. Seeing animals all day, helping them, making them feel better. What could be better? Until you realize that you have to do some of the difficult things as well, and then… stuff like this happens.
There is so much wrong with this tweet. 80% of it is that there are actually some people out there who would bring their perfectly healthy animal to be put down. 20% is that they would not just do that but would also be willing to leave it to die on its own. So much wrong. Thank goodness there are good people in the world who are willing to do something about it.
And really, we are so, so happy to scroll through the comments on this post and see that this is not the only vet out there doing this. Not all heroes wear capes. Some of them wear white lab coats.
