Assigned and paid for parking spaces are one of those things that will drive even the most sane and level headed among us to the brink—and we're not claiming to be even the most sane and level headed.
The fierce competition that emerges for the limited parking spaces—with high costs associated—is intense driving tenants to extraordinary lengths. This exacerbated by the fact that apartment complexes with inbuilt garages never have enough spaces for each unit in the building often meaning that there's some kind of lottery based system or first-come-first-served type of waiting list that determines who even has a chance at the spot.
This before we even get to what is to be done with vistors… Where are they to park? Many of the brash and foolhardy will decide at this point that an empty adjacent spot will do just fine, and they'll find themselves very wrong indeed when a fuming tenant returns home to find someone in their spot.
At this point, the wise among us would move our vehicle and avoid the confrontation and hassle of fees and towing… but there are those who wouldn't be too fussed about a more confrontational outcome. These neighbors are those people, and they paid the price for their arrogance.
