Entitled CEO comes back weeks later to ask us what we're going to do to get his business back.

So I work at a somewhat higher end restaurant where the dining experience for 4 people averages 2.5 hours and we tell people that when we confirm their reservation and when we greet the table.

So this man comes in with his wife and another couple, his dinner takes 3 hours. That night he complains to the manager that their dinner took too long. My manager inquires about the food and service, guy says both were great, it just took too long.

Manager apologizes and reminds him that we inform our guests that the experience does take longer and he was informed that it could take 2.5 hours but takes $140.00 off their bill anyways, this seems to offend the man who says he'll never be back and that he's the CEO of a huge company and there will be repercussions. So my manager

asks what his expectations were and Mr.CEO just asks for his card to say that he'll contact him the next day to see what we're willing to do for him. Fast forward TWO WEEKS LATER Mr.CEO comes into the restaurant unannounced, demands to speak to my manager and goes on and on about how he's a big deal CEO

so what are we going to do to get his business back because he plans on dragging our name through the mud if we can't make things right.... Like You got $140.00 off your dude!? $400.00+ bill and said the food and service was good, it just took longer than you wanted.

Charliefi We're going to ensure you never have a long dinner here again, or any dinner, you're welcome.

Tinabird20 Yeah also you aren't making money off that _ anyway. If he's always going to demand money off his bill he isn't a customer worth making happy.

[deleted] From reading these kinds of stories it seems quite common (in the US at least) to take a substantial amount off the bill to pacify entitled brats, moochers, etc. But the effect of that is the decent, well-behaved diner is subsiding the bill for these idiots. Doesn't seem right to me.

Felix_Von Doom Going to be real hard to drag the restaurant's name through the mud when lawyers will be dragging his first for extortion.
