  • If you have never gotten a raise at the job you have worked at for years, what are you even doing? Come on, man. It's time. You have put in the work and you deserve more pay. Act your wage, bestie. We know it's scary to ask for a raise, especially at a job that you like. What if they get upset and fire you? What if they think you're just being greedy? Then that's their own problem because you deserve to be paid accordingly. 

    As this Redditor so wisely says, “Don't let anyone tell you how much you are worth!” She found this out with a happy ending after she had to quit a job she loved. She had been working there for a very long time when her husband lost his job. Her family needed the funds and she hadn't gotten a raise in years, even though she was doing double the work as before. She asked for a raise, thinking it would be a no-brainer, but instead, the company denied it. 

    So she started job searching, and she finally found a job that paid her graciously and appreciated her work. Now, she's making $30k more than before, got her old company to up their hourly rates by over $1 for all employees, and she loves her new job. See? It all works out in the end.
