This person was heading to a wedding with their dad. This wedding, however, was for Dad's nemesis's son. That meant that Dad was automatically ready to stir the pot: since he dislikes his brother, he's willing to mess with the brother's son's wedding day. Commenters agreed with the original poster that Dad took things way too far here. Let's hope that everyone else at the wedding barely registered the moment, as so often happens with embarrassing moments.
