Life can deal you some funny and unexpected hands. Sometimes, in the form of things that seem so unlikely that you'd consider it next to impossible, they become a reality. Yet, still, these things can happen, and these moments of happenstance can be defining. 

When this college student bought themself their first real phone in university, they were annoyed to find that their new phone number had previously belonged to someone who numerous financial institutions were trying desperately to reach. This meant a bombardment of phone calls from debt collectors relentlessly looking to get what they were owed. They kept the phone number and would block new callers as they appeared, keeping a list so that they could block the numbers again when they got a new phone.

Years later, they started a new job, working under a tyrannical micromanager with a reputation for causing high attrition in the teams they managed. However, something about the manager's name was familiar, like it had been playing over and over in their head years earlier and this feeling would lead to a dawning realization that would present a unique chance to get even…
