I asked about this pregnant cat named Cerid roaming the hospital. The nurse said they let her stay because she's been here longer than some of the staff. A frontliner cat!

KismetLullaby 1 day ago She's been here longer than the nurses but she doesn't Ieven have a bowl for herself. Doesn't this hospital pay her?

    • lovingdomenica OP 1 day ago Oh, they do! However, some patients are not comfortable having animals in the hospital due to health reasons. There are a lot of stray cats that likes to hang around outside the hospital, where they have a row of bowls prepared for them. I believe the security guards. or the staff feed them regularly.

Sugadip 1 day ago If she has been there that long why is she pregnant? Or maybe I'm reading the post incorrectly.

lovingdomenica OP 23 hr. ago She pops into the hospital now and then, and most patients and staff don't even bat an eye anymore. A bunch of patients already know her since she likes to roam around the hospital halls. She's a stray, but from what I've heard, she's been hanging around that hospital since she was just a kitten.

Scared OfShadows 19 hr. ago Okay, tbf hospitals are constantly sanitized and I'm sure kitty is not present in any major surgeries or in any of the medical supplies? Anyways I love her, let her live her best life

jack_im_mellow - 19 hr. ago That's adorable, but if I was in the hospital and a cat came to lay in bed with me, I might think I'm dead/about to be and I'm hallucinating a spirit guide or something.

yeah ok but tons of US rural hospitals are closing so there are plenty of areas here in the good old US that no longer have hospital services within a 30 minute drive or even longer. What's a cat or two in comparison to greedy venture capital buying up hospital systems to destroy for their lucrative

cosmetic surgery and cancer treatment branches and forcing people to drive hours away for birthing and obgyn and dialysis services? Just enjoy a cute cat for once in your miserable life.

pigeon_man 22 hr. ago That's potentially a big health and safety hazard. Especially for a hospital.

Exposed TamponString. 1 day ago I'm sorry this is an actual - hospital that just lets cats roam around? What if there's an emergency and they hit her with a moving hospital bed or gurney or something? And the food just on a piece of paper?!

Anonymouse1011 22 hr. ago • Health and safety nightmare, infection risk, allergy risk. I could go on and on. Cute cat, but you never, I repeat NEVER bring animals into a hospital without them being a service animal, or through explicit permission by the chief of the hospital. Also, get them to get her spayed!

    • TheHalfwayBeast 23 hr. ago That's great news for anyone with a cat allergy who has an attack and ends up in the hospital. I don't even let my cat on the kitchen work surface if I can help it.

FactoryKat 20 hr. ago How could you not recognize the founder of the hospital? For shame! /s But please convince the staff to have her spayed once she gives birth. It's for her health and safety. ♥

TheLyz 21 hr. ago Notify a local cat rescue and maybe they can TNR the hospital cats. Poor things deserve to live a comfortable existence with no fighting and heats and mating and birthing.
