Knowing that even if you finish work at 6:00 pm, you would still get home when the sun is still out, is always an instant mood lifter, that helps with the motivation to actually finish work. Compared to winter, when the sun sets at around 4:00 pm, and as soon as it does, there is hardly any work getting done at the office, it is simply impossible to work when it is dark out.

Then there is the factor of the actual weather. If I am hot, it is hard to focus on anything, and it only makes me more angry and restless. But being cold is not that bad, it keeps me awake and drives me to work faster because that makes me feel like I am actually getting warmer.
